Industry engagement
Industry engagement will play a critical role in helping shape a future high speed rail network along Australia’s east coast by helping to inform the project’s planning and delivery.
The High Speed Rail Authority (Authority) is seeking to test the market on innovative ideas in design and delivery while taking advantage of tried and tested best-practice methods.
Australian and international expert advisors and businesses will have the opportunity to provide feedback, insights and recommendations on key themes, including:
Using local manufacturing and building local workforce skills and participation
Achieving net zero carbon emissions and supporting sustainable green infrastructure
Optimising city and region shaping opportunities through alignment and station locations
Identifying optimal packaging strategies for efficient delivery of the works
Integrating emerging high speed rail technologies, and
Attracting private sector investment.
Call for registrations of interest
The Authority is developing a Business Case for a high speed rail connection between Sydney and Newcastle, as the first stage of a future high speed rail network which connects Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and key regional centres between these four cities.
Industry engagement plays an important role in ensuring domestic and international insights and feedback help inform planning for Sydney to Newcastle high speed rail and the broader network.
The Authority invites Australian and international businesses, contractors, suppliers, service providers, operators, financiers, and industry bodies to register your interest to participate in upcoming industry engagement opportunities.
The industry engagement process will be a continuous process undertaken from July 2024 and will be divided into two-stages. Further information about the process is available in the Registration of Interest forms.
How to register
You can register your interest to participate in upcoming industry engagement opportunities by completing the Registration of Interest forms and returning the completed forms to industry.hsra@hsra.gov.au.
Registrations will be open until the end of September 2024, however we encourage you to register as soon as possible as industry engagement activities will commence from July 2024.
